Winter Solstice - Crystals, Candles and Company

Here are a few snaps from our little Winter Solstice gathering. My most special friends and I lit candles and watched the crystals glittering in the moonlight as we made our intentions and burned them on the fire while calling the light and warmth into our lives. My most special friends in the world. What a wonderful time to be celebrating together.

Winter Solstice happens when the path of the sun in the sky is farthest south. Therefore it is the day that has the least day light. It also marks the beginning of winter which lasts until the vernal equinox in March. It is known in many cultures as the time of rebirth.

'Look at winter with winter eyes as smoke curls from roof tops to clear cobalt skies.

Breathe in winter past winter nose: The sweet scent of black birch where velvet moss grows.

Walk through winter with winter feet on crackling ice or sloshy wet sleet.

Look at winter with winter eyes: The rustling of oak leaves as spring slowly nears'.

Some of the crystals used tonight:

Golden Healer: is the crystal of total healing, empowering you to heal yourself and others. It promotes peace, alignment, and soothes your mind, body, & spirit.

Kambaba Jasper: is believed to help promote inner peace by calming the mind. It also helps to boost confidence and reduce feelings of fear and worry. In terms of healing, the stone is a powerful detoxifier and can help boost the immune system, promoting better health.

Dream Amethyst: is a stone combines the enhancing and strengthening qualities of a Quartz with the stress-relieving qualities of an Amethyst.

Blue Fluorite: brings a calm, rational energy. Attuned to the Third Eye and Throat Chakras, it is an exceptional talisman for well-ordered record-keeping, and fosters clear, concise communication skills. It inspires gentle honesty, a sense of justice, and letting go of obsessions, frustrations and disappointments. Blue Fluorite is an ideal stone for spiritual awakening.
